Northern Krig’s “Exanimationes Incidamus”: A Journey into the Abyss of Black Metal 🤘🔥

Formed in 2021 by Skyrsdag’s founding members Morfran and Erik Lund, Northern Krig has been a force to be reckoned with in the black metal scene. Their debut studio album, “Concept of a Suicidal Journey”, released on April 27th this year, is a raw and unfiltered exploration of a life marked by violence, abuse, self-harm, and drugs.

The album tells the harrowing tale of Juna, a character who escapes into a misanthropic world of make-believe, relentlessly working towards her suicide. It’s a dark and intense narrative that’s sure to resonate with fans of the genre.

Northern Krig’s sound is a homage to the classic black metal of the mid-1990s, enhanced with noise and ultrasonic effects. The result is an uncompromising sound that fully immerses listeners in Juna’s tale of self-destruction.

The LP is limited to 300 copies, with a special Collector’s Edition bundle featuring an original Polaroid photo taken at Northern Krig’s last tour, alongside other collectibles.

The band features Morfran and Magnus Jensen on vocals, Erik Lund and Jonar Gunnarson on guitars, Mikkel Stein on bass, and Hjörtur Anderson on drums (since 2023).

It’s refreshing to hear epic black metal in the modern era that still retains the classic style of sound. Northern Krig manages to convey the brutality and atmosphere that black metal enthusiasts love about the genre. It’s a testament to their skill and dedication to their craft.
